After receiving reports of poisoning cases, the health bureau of southwestern China's Guizhou Province made an emergency recall of polluted milk powder on Saturday.

The bureau demanded buyers across the province to immediately stop drinking the milk powder with Shanhua brand, produced by Guiyang Sanlian Milk Company on April 1 to 2, and wait for a recall.

According to the reports given by the local residents, over 70 kids in two kindergartens located in Wudang District of Guiyang, capital city of province, showed symptoms of vomit, diarrhea and fever, after drinking such kind of milk powder.

Another kindergarten's 84 children in Pingba County were also poisoned by the milk powder.

The milk powder had been confirmed containing a toxin, which was created by a golden staphylococcus and easily lead to loss of body fluids, heart failure, even death after being drunk by children or the aged.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
