Brazilian Roberto Carlos is all set to be shipped from Spanish side Real Madrid to English Premier League runner-ups Chelsea in a US$35.8 million transfer.

After a disappointing season at Real Madrid, the defender has been shopped around in search of a significant package.

Roberto Carlos or Chelsea have yet to confirm any move, but Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano has revealed that the Brazilian is likely to aid in Chelsea's efforts to dethrone Arsenal.

Robert Carlos arrived in Madrid back in 1996, after a short stint with Italian club Inter Milan. During his time at Real, Roberto Carlos has appeared in almost 300 games, including countless Champions League and championship matches. Real has won every major trophy during his eight years with the club. Roberto Carlos was also a part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning side.
