Two more wounded Chinese back from Pakistan
Two more Chinese engineers wounded in a bomb attack in Pakistan on May 3 returned to Beijing by air Friday. The two engineers, Zhen Muguang and Fang Runping, were greeted with flowers at the Beijing Capital International Airport by Vice-Minister of Communications Xu Zhuyuan and other officials and medical workers from Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
On May 3, three Chinese were killed and nine injured when an unoccupied car exploded near their bus in Gwadar, about 500 km west of Karachi, where hundreds of Chinese are working on a deep seaport. The attack also left two Pakistanis injured. The dead and injured Chinese were project supervision engineers employed by China Harbor Engineering Company (Group) to help build the deep seaport in Gwadar. The project is expected to be completed in 2005. Four of the Chinese injured returned home on May 7 for recovery after medical treatment in Pakistan. The three others are still in Pakistan for medical treatment.
