Minnesota now hold a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference first round series, though Garnett said he felt his top-seeded team still had not played as well as they can.

"We aren't playing our best right now but we're beating them," Garnett said. "We want to go home now and close this out," he added in reference to the fifth game in Minneapolis on Thursday.

The Nuggets had the opportunity win the game with 11.7 seconds remaining after Latrell Sprewell missed two free throws but they missed a couple of shots in the dying seconds, giving Minnesota the win.

Sam Cassell scored 15 points for the Timberwolves, while Trenton Hassell added 14 and Sprewell 13.

Denver rookie Carmelo Anthony shot just 1-for-16 from the field and scored just two points. Voshon Lenard led Denver with 28 points.

Andre Miller added 13 points for the Nuggets, Nene had 11 points while Marcus Camby contributed nine points and had 14 rebounds.
