China-made BMW 318I goes on sale

The China-made BMW 318I made its debut on Saturday,announced the producer BMW
Brilliance in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai on Saturday.
The car is sold at 398,000yuan (US$48,536) nationwide, according to dealers.

up in May 2003.Its production capability will reach 30,000this year and its
total investment will top 4.5 billion yuan (US$549million) by 2005, according to
the company.
Last year,BMW sold 18,700 cars on the Chinese mainland,three times more than
the previous year, according to China Economic Information Network.
