A city bus drove off a road into a river
in Zigong, Sichuan Province, in Southwest China when it went out
of control Wednesday, killing 15 people and injuring 39 -- 5
seriously. Rescuers managed to save the injured parties from the deep
river who were then taken to a hospital for treatment. The
driver, 24-year-old Li Yan, was held for questioning April 1, 2004.
