China's foreign minister going to North Korea

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing will visit North Korea next week, the government announced Thursday.

The visit from March 23 to 25 will be the first time in five years that a Chinese foreign minister has visited North Korea, Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said.

The visit comes amid Chinese diplomatic efforts to push ahead negotiations on the North Korea's nuclear issues.
