Hosts China have defeated Myanmar 2-0 at a soccer friendly, as veteran striker Hao Haidong played his 100th international match for the national team.

China claimed an easy victory against its Asian neighbor on Wednesday in south China's Guangzhou, with both goals coming in the first half.

The match was a warm up for China's national squad before its World Cup qualifier against Hong Kong in two weeks.

Earlier, China had denied calling off the match because of the bird flu outbreak.

Also on Wednesday, the world's football governing body, FIFA, announced its latest monthly ranking of world teams.

China is up two places from last month, to 76.

Brazil continues to sit on top of the list, while South Korea, Iran and Japan are the top three in Asia.
