Ping An to provide insurance to oversea students

Students from overseas will soon be able to enjoy comprehensive insurance services provided by China's Ping An Insurance Corporation.

According to the contract Ping An signed with China's Ministry of Education on Monday, the comprehensive insurance will include safety, accident, and medical insurance for overseas students. Losses from SARS will also be covered.

Applicants are entitled to a compensation of up to 510,000 RMB, or around 62,000 US dollars. Nowadays, 85,000 students from overseas are studying in China, including 6,000 coming over on scholarships provided by China's government.
