30% more termite attacks reported

Reports of termite attacks in Shanghai have increased by 30 per cent since March, compared to the same period last year, causing an economic loss of about 15 million yuan (US$180,000), reports Eastday.com.
About 3,000 families in Hongqiao and Pudong have found termites in their houses.
The best way to prevent a termite attack is to spray pesticide before moving into a house. But most people do not do that.
Termites migrate and reproduce in May-June, also a key time to check their spread, said experts.
