Heinze wants Chelseas move
( 2004-01-17 10:32) (skysports.com)

Gabriel Heinze is desperate to join Chelsea, with the Paris Saint Germain defender claiming a transfer to Stamford Bridge would be the opportunity of a lifetime.

Reports earlier in the week suggested Chelsea had turned their attentions to Heinze after being rebuffed in their attempts to lure Roberto Ayala from Valencia.

PSG president Francis Graille warned Chelsea they would face a tough battle to sign Heinze, but it would appear the defender is attracted by the prospect of joining the galaxy of stars already at Stamford Bridge.

"I must keep calm," Heinze told France Football. "In life, you don't have 36 extraordinary opportunities. You have to seize your chance.

"Last summer, Barcelona wanted me. It looked marvellous, but I stayed.

"Now Chelsea is the chance of my whole life!

"It is a massive club with very important ambitions.

"Everyone dreams of one day playing for a big team. I am living an important period in my life."

Despite declaring he wants to secure a move to London, the Argentine says he will not show disrespect to PSG.

"I respect Paris, and I will until the end," he stressed. "I must show good behaviour toward my team-mates and officials.

"I have always given my best for Paris and it won't change now.

"But can you refuse Chelsea?"
