Beckham doubt for Betis clash
( 2004-01-16 14:05)

England captain David Beckham is still unsure whether he will be able to return to action in time for Real Madrid's away game to Betis this weekend.

Beckham is back in full training following his ankle injury suffered in Madrid's 1-0 win over Murcia almost two weeks ago.

But despite assurances from club doctor Juan Carlos Hernandez, who insisted the former Manchester United midfielder would be fit, Beckham was far less confident about his chances of making the trip to Seville.

He said: "I'm not sure, It's still a bit sore. I really don't know if I'll be OK."

The 28-year-old was seen shaking his head following the training session and afterwards admitted he had felt some reaction to the four stitches he needed following Madrid's 1-0 win over Murcia just under a fortnight ago.

Beckham has already missed Madrid's two Copa del Rey games against Eibar and their 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in La Liga last Saturday.
