Iverson expected to return on Monday
( 2004-01-03 13:57) (Xinhua)

Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson was expected to return to the NBA court from a bruised right knee injury on Monday, after he missed the Sixers' last seven games.

76ers coach Randy Ayers told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Iverson, the NBA's leading scorer, worked out Tuesday night and again Wednesday and that his knee endured the workouts.

"He's doing OK," Ayers said. "Right now he's scheduled to go on Monday. I think all along that was our target date with Allen."

Iverson averages 28.9 points, 6.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds for the 14-18 76ers.

He was hurt in a game against the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 4, when he slipped and hit the court hard.

On Monday, the Sixers will meet the Milwaukee Bucks.
