Overspeeding coach overturns, 4 killed ( 2003-12-31 16:35) (China Daily)
A long-distance coach carrying 25 passengers overturned on Monday
in Nagqu Prefecture of Northwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, leaving 4
dead and 16 injured, Foshan Daily reports.
The coach, starting from Lhasa, capital of Tibet, was bound for Golmund, a
city in Northwest China's Qinghai Province.
The accident, reportedly caused by overspeeding, happened when the bus
overturned and plunged 6.5 metres into a ditch after breaking the safety barrier
on the road.
The driver, Wang Yongsheng, was killed on the spot together with two other
passengers while the fourth died in Nagqu Prefectural
Hospital.
