China to further parliamentary exchanges with Israel ( 2003-12-20 01:15) (Xinhua)
China's top legislator said here that parliamentary exchanges play a
significant role in promoting relations between China and Israel, and the
Chinese National People's Congress is ready to work with the Israeli parliament
to push forward the relations between the two countries.
Wu Bangguo, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, told the visiting Israeli
President Moshe Katsav Friday that the Chinese people have been friendly to
Israeli people, and the bilateral ties have developed rapidly since the two
countries forged diplomatic ties.
Wu said that the Chinese government attaches importance to the scientific and
human resources cooperation with Israel, hoping the cooperation will benefit the
two peoples and the progress of civilization.
Moshe Katsav said Israel and China had cooperated well over the past 10 years
and the two countries have enjoyed common interests and have a bright future for
cooperation.
He believed that the parliamentary exchanges will play a positive role in
furthering bilateral ties.
