Chinese women take ITTF World Cup by storm

Chinese women's singles had a fruitful night in the quarter final of the International Table Tennis Federation World Cup, ensuring 3 places in the semifinals.

Defending champion Zhang Yining was the first to book her ticket to the next round with a 4-0 voctiry over Kim Kyung-ah of South Korea.

World Champions and Olympic Games winner Wang Nan was next, beating Hong Kong's Tie Yana 4-1. She will take on her teammate Zhang Yining in the semifinal.

China's new ITTF Pro Tour Finals champion, Niu Jianfeng, also made it through to the semifinals. Despite losing the opening and 4th sets to Lau Suifei of Hong Kong, she won the game 4-2 to notch up the 3rd ticket to the semifinals.

The remaining one seat was booked by Romanian Michaela Steff after she beat Chinese-American Gaoju 4-1. Enditem
