A father taught his daughter how to drink wine at home but both got drunk and had to be sent to hospital for emergency treatment in Guangzhou's Baiyun District on Tuesday, reports Information Times.

Doctors said both the father and the daughter suffered from serious alcoholism and had to receive in-patient treatment.

The incident took place at about noon when the father surnamed Peng, 58, introduced his 28-year-old daughter to alcohol to keep warm during lunch.

But both fell to the ground after they had drunk 1 jin (0.5 kilogram) of strong wine.

And they had to immediately have intravenous glucose drip treatment in hospital.
