Experts have asked local residents to boil tap water before they drink it despite the fact that major quality indices are up to the national standard for drinking water, City Herald reports.

To remove some harmful substances, tap water plants have added disinfectants into the water. So residents should never drink water unboiled, they said.

Three million tons of tap water is consumed daily on average during winter.
