Huang Xingguo named Tianjin's vice-mayor ( 2003-12-12 21:51) (Xinhua)
Huang Xingguo, an alternate member of the 16th Central Committee of the
Communist Party of China (CPC) , became vice-mayor of Tianjin, the north China
port city on Friday.
His appointment came at the seventh meeting of the Standing Committee of the
14th Tianjin Municipal People's Congress.
He replaced Xia Baolong.
Huang, of Han nationality, born in Xiangshan county of east China's Zhejiang
province in 1954, was deputy secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee
before taking over the new job.
Huang once served as vice-governor of Zhejiang province and a member of the
Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, and secretary of
the CPC Ningbo City Committee. He became deputy secretary of the CPC Tianjin
Municipal Committee in November.
