The garbage bins shaped like animals lining Guangzhou's streets attract the glances of many pedestrians who stop to look at them, reports Guangzhou Daily.

But all the cute cans may be replaced next year.

The Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Environmental Sanitation has received many complaints from local residents as well as tourists who feel the bins do a disservice to the live versions of the animals depicted.

The bins are misleading people into thinking that animals are dirty, according to the complaints.

The cheerful bunny, monkey, tiger and panda bins display the slogan, "Please feed me with rubbish."
