Wrong driver pays for dog's death

Three members of a family in Fangshan District were sentenced to one year in
prison for blackmailing a driver they mistook for the one who killed their pet
dog, reports Beijing Morning Post.
On July 5, Wang's pet dog was playing in the bicycle lane of a road near her
residence when a truck veered into the lane and hit the animal.
Wang memorized the truck's number plate as it sped away and repeated it to
her brothers.
The two men caught up with a truck of the same type and forced the driver to
pay compensation of 3,000 yuan (US$360), although the truck's number plate was
not exactly the same as the one their sister had told them.
