Village poisoner awaits sentencing ( 2003-12-11 17:15) (China Daily)
A woman from Laocheng Village in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province,
poisoned fellow villagers' food in revenge after 4,000 yuan (US$480) was stolen
from her in 2001, reports Guizhou Metropolis News.
After losing the money, Guo Zhenfen went to a fortune teller who told her it
had been stolen by her neighbours.
The angry woman then put poison in food at five households in her village
from August 2001 to March 2003, causing the deaths of four people.
The villagers never suspected Guo until this March.
Guo is currently awaiting a court judgment.
