X-ray uncovers pain in bum ( 2003-12-11 17:13) (China Daily)
A 73-year-old man who found blood in his stool turned out to have a needle embedded in his posterior, as discovered in an X-ray after more than 200 hospital visits, Shanghai Evening Post reports. The man, surnamed He, underwent a haemorrhoid operation at a hospital under the then-textile bureau in April 1952. But after the procedure, he found his bottom ached whenever it was overcast or rainy, and he noticed blood in his stool. He consulted various hospitals more than 200 times, but none of the doctors ever suggested he have an X-ray. As He suffers from anaemia and heart disease, reacts strongly to anaesthetic, he was unwilling to undergo another operation to figure out the problem. Luckily, the X-ray finally answered his questions.
