The Tibet Autonomous Region is home to more hot springs than any other part
of China, reports People's Daily.
According to a survey conducted by the local government, the autonomous
region's super-heated underground hot springs, with surface temperatures
exceeding 80 degrees centigrade, make up 80 per cent of all such springs in the
entire nation.
There are 706 hot springs in the autonomous region, 342 of which have not
been developed.
To date, three terrestrial-heat power plants have been built in
Xizang.
