Schools must hire law instructors ( 2003-12-05 17:20) (China Daily)
All primary and middle schools in Beijing must invite members of the legal
profession to teach law courses to their students, reports Beijing Star Daily.
The new teachers may work full time or part time, but they must have been
engaged in the legal sector for more than five years and undergo
teacher-training courses before leading classes. The regulation, recently
approved by the People's Congress of Beijing, aims at enhancing students'
awareness and knowledge of the law, to help them use law as a tool to protect
themselves and as a means of reducing the crime rate among
adolescents.
