All road signs along Beijing's key roads, ring roads and expressways are to be renovated by the end of next June, reports Beijing Daily.

Besides featuring more legible numerals and characters, the signboards will be made of more durable materials.

The clearer signs are meant to assist drivers as well as reduce the number of traffic jams and accidents.

The project will begin in mid-December.
