Cashing in on family histories ( 2003-12-03 17:29) (China Daily)
A company in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, will
write family's history books for a fee, reports Xinhua News Agency.
The company will compose a family history by researching and editing
historical materials provided by members of the family. The contents of a
typical family's history include the origin of the family's surname, anecdotes
and experiences of their ancestors, and, in the cases of family businesses, how
the enterprises were started and run.
Although the cost for such a family record can run from between 10,000 yuan
(US$1,200) and 50,000 yuan (US$6,025), many people feel such a document is worth
the expense.
