Student uniforms earn beggars more

Begging in student uniforms is winning panhandlers more sympathy and money in
Shanghai, Xinmin Evening News reports.
A local citizen surnamed Chen revealed that even a woman in her 30s earned a
living wearing a student uniform and displaying her student certificate while
kneeling on a street.
Several middle-aged people gave the woman money from time to time, helping to
attract more passers-by to contribute.
Insiders say such "student beggars", which are now popular in Shanghai, can
earn hundreds of yuan a day.
