Cable TV cut to 40,000 households ( 2003-12-02 16:29) (China Daily)
Someone deliberately cut cables broadcasting Beijing's cable television
programmes to more than 40,000 homes on Saturday, reports Beijing Times.
Cable television subscribers in the Fengtai and Chaoyang districts of eastern
Beijing could not tune into cable television programmes on Saturday morning.
Gehua Cable Television Co Ltd later discovered that cables in these areas had
been cut.
Maintenance workers spent nearly 20 hours making repairs to restore
transmission. Police are investigating the incident.
