A fugitive criminal wanted by Zhejiang police gave himself away when he made direct eye contact with a policeman at Shanghai West Railway Station, Shanghai Evening Post reports.

At about 9:00 am on Tuesday, Officer Hu Lingen briefly made eye contact with a trendy young man, whose hair was dyed yellow, while patrolling the station.

But when the man quickly turned his eyes away and began walking faster towards the waiting area, Hu became suspicious.

Hu followed him and asked to see his ticket and identity card.

The man turned out to be a fugitive wanted for committing several major thefts.
