Daughter-in-law must return money ( 2003-11-28 17:22) (China Daily) An elderly woman has sued her
daughter-in-law for failing to repay money she lent her two months ago, reports
www.qianlong.com.
Zhang borrowed 50,000 yuan (US$6,000) from Li on September 26 for a down
payment on a house she wanted to buy.
Li later asked Zhang to pay her back as soon as possible as she needed the
money for a medical emergency.
But Zhang turned her down, saying Li had given her the money outright and not
as a loan.
When Zhang could not supply evidence to support her claim, the court ordered
her to repay her mother-in-law within 60 days.
