Driver sets record for breaking rules ( 2003-11-25 17:21) (China Daily) A motorist has set a record
for breaking traffic regulations, losing 73 points from his licence, reports
Wuhan Evening News.
Cheng was stopped by a police officer in Xudong Road in Wuchang on Saturday
for a traffic violation.
But the officer soon discovered that the driving licence Cheng gave him was
fake. His real licence was declared invalid after having 73 points deducted for
previous violations.
According to China's traffic rules, motorists who lose 12 points within a
year must go to traffic school to earn the right to drive again.
Cheng, who is now in police custody, will be fined 500 yuan (US$60).
Meanwhile, he must apply for a new driving licence, but when it is issued it
will be suspended for six to 12 months.
