Drug dealer's sob story falls flat ( 2003-11-25 17:13) (China Daily) A would-be drug dealer failed
to win the sympathy of local police when he lied that his wife had betrayed him
and come to the city to earn a living by prostitution, Shanghai Morning Post
reports.
When police approached him on the street and asked him to present his
temporary residency permit, Tian said he did not have it, then started to cry
that he had come to Shanghai to look for his wife who was working as a
prostitute there.
When the officers tried to search him in accordance with the law, Tian
refused to co-operate and stuffed his fist into his jacket pocket. Police later
found 15 grams of heroin in the pocket.
Tian was released from prison in 2001 after serving seven years for robbery.
He had travelled to Shanghai to deal in drugs.
