Death sentence for wife, lover, accomplice for killing husband

Hu Fuling, 31, her lover and
another accomplice have all been sentenced to death by the No.1 Intermediate
People's Court of Beijing for the murder of Hu's husband and another accomplice.
Hu was given a two-year reprieve, according to a ruling by the court.
The court verdict said that Hu Fuling had an affair with Song Baoliang, which
was discovered by her husband, Su Xuecheng, who then often beat Hu after he got
drunk and had fights with Song.
Hu allegedly hated her husband and told her lover to kill him in November
2002 as Su was preparing to buy a gun to take revenge on Song. Song found his
friend Li Yong and asked Li to kill Su for a hefty sum. Li agreed.
In the meantime, Hu Fuling also found He Shuquan, who was the brother in-law
of Su's sister, and promised He she would marry him if he killed her husband. He
also agreed because he reportedly thought Hu was beautiful.
On Feb. 15 this year, Li Yong and He Shuquan got Su Xuecheng to a small
village in north China's Hebei province. He told Su that Li was a gun trader. Li
asked Su to cut off one of his fingers to prove he was sincere about buying a
gun. Su dared not cut off his own fingers and when he sat on the ground after
asking Li for help, Li killed him.
Li Yong, Song Baoliang and Hu Fuling were afraid He would report the crime,
so they collaborated to trick him, insisting he should go into hiding for days
after the murder.
Song Baoliang and Li Yong killed the unsuspecting He when they reached a
mountainous road in Fangshan District of Beijing and left He's body in the open
air.
