A farmer who moved to Beijing for work was killed by a tiger at the Badaling Wild Animal Zoo last Tuesday after entering the grounds without a ticket, reports Beijing Times.

The man did not want to pay to visit the zoo. Ignoring the warning signs posted around the facility, he and two friends jumped over the protective fencing to find themselves face to face with a tiger. The animal attacked and killed the farmer.

According to a lawyer, the farmer was solely responsible for the accident.
