Tank fire sets off oil barrels ( 2003-11-18 17:25) (China Daily) A tank truck caught fire on
Saturday, causing five barrels of oil at a chemical plant near the South Ring
Road to explode into flames, reports Beijing Morning Post.
The tank truck, which was parked at the chemical plant, caught fire
accidentally. As the incident occurred on the weekend in the evening, it took
longer than usual to contact firefighters. As a result, the blaze was able to
spread.
The fire ignited five 170-kilogram capacity barrels, all of which were full.
Firefighters spent one hour extinguishing the fire. No one was injured in the
blaze.
