The owner of a hand-pulled noodle restaurant who was alleged to have killed a young employee for getting too intimate with his wife has been arrested by police, Xinmin Evening News reports.

On April 14, Songjiang District police received a report of the incident and confirmed the identity of the victim in front of the restaurant.

Xiao Wei, an 18-year-old from Qinghai Province, was hired by Miao Yongmao two months earlier and soon struck up a friendship with Miao's wife.

The 31-year-old woman had been married to Miao for nine years but rarely showed strong feelings for her husband.

She was much more animated in the company of Xiao, a diligent, energetic and witty young man.

At 4:30 on the morning of August 14, Miao woke to find his wife and Xiao working close together in the kitchen.

Miao then picked up a knife and killed Xiao with it.
