1st virtual property dispute goes to court ( 2003-11-12 17:26) (China Daily) China's first virtual
property lawsuit has been filed at Beijing's Chaoyang Court, reports Beijing
Morning Post.
In February, Li, an Internet gaming enthusiast, discovered that all the
virtual weapons and equipment he had won over the previous two years playing
"Hongyue" had disappeared from his account.
After several fruitless negotiations with the game's online operator, Li
filed the lawsuit.
Li believes the missing weapons and equipment should be restored to his
account free of charge as he spent thousands of hours and more than 10,000 yuan
(US$1,200) to win them.
