Richard Hamilton scored 24 points and Corliss Williamson 20 to drive the red-hot Detroit Pistons to a 98-84 victory over the New Jersey Nets Sunday. The Pistons (5-1), who have won five straight games, beat the Nets handily in the first meeting between the two teams since last season's Eastern Conference finals won 4-0 by New Jersey. Detroit trailed by as many as 13 points in the first quarter but rallied to take a 48-47 halftime lead before pulling away in the fourth session to drop the Nets to 3-4. Ben Wallace added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Pistons, who also received 11-point efforts from Chauncey Billups and Elden Campbell. Jason Kidd had 18 points and 11 assists for the twice defending Eastern Conference champion Nets. Kerry Kittles added 17 points while Jason Collins landed 11 points and 10 rebounds. Raptors 89 Nuggets 76 In Toronto, Vince Carter picked up 34 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Raptors to an 89-76 win over the Denver Nuggets. Milt Palacio added 14 points for the Raptors, who outscored Denver 26-13 in the first quarter and are 3-0 at home this season. Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets with 19 points while Andre Miller added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Pacers 85 76ers 74 In Philadelphia, Ron Artest poured in 30 points and 10 rebounds to help the Indiana Pacers to an 85-74 triumph over the 76ers. Jermaine O'Neal added 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers, who have won five games in a row. Allen Iverson led the way for Philadelphia with a season-high 37 points. Celtics 91 Kings 82 In Boston, Vin Baker notched 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Celtics overcame the Sacramento Kings 91-82. Paul Pierce added 17 points for the Celtics, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Brad Miller led the Kings with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Hawks 91 SuperSonics 81 In Seattle, Jason Terry collected 23 points and nine rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks handed the SuperSonics their first loss of the season, 91-81. Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 14 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the Hawks, who won for only the second time in seven games. Ronald Murray led Seattle (3-1) with 24 points. The Sonics were the last undefeated team in the NBA.
