Jin Yueying, an 80-year-old farmer, has spent her own money planting more than 100,000 trees in her hometown in Henan Province over the years, reports Beijing Youth Daily.

Since she turned 60 in 1984, Jin has been planting trees on the barren mountainsides around her village with her own hands.

After 20 years, seven mountains in the area are covered with green trees. Jin is now expanding her mission to neighbouring wastelands.
