British pair finish new Long March ( 2003-11-06 17:58) (China Daily)
Two British men completed their year-long trek along the route of the Long
March, a famous event in China's revolutionary history, last Friday, reports
Beijing Morning News.
The two young men, who said they admired the courage and spirit of China's
Red Army, walked the entire 12,500-kilometre route the army travelled in the
1920s.
The pair departed on October 16, 2002, conquering various difficulties along
the way to reach their destination. They also interviewed 11 former Red Army
soldiers and 107 witnesses of the original Long March.
