110-kilo shoes can't slow man down ( 2003-11-06 17:52) (China Daily) A 48-year-old Yiling man
manages to be light on his feet even while wearing iron shoes weighing 110
kilograms, reports Changsha Evening News.
Zhang Zhenghui has experimented with exercises for his legs and feet since
1974 when he was in the army. He started off by running long distances with
sandbags strapped to his legs and built up strength walking with 50-kilogram
shoes on his feet.
After nearly 30 years of such exercise, Zhang now easily strolls along in his
custom-made 100-kilogram iron shoes. And to show that his hobby isn't solely a
"foot fetish", he carries another 100 kilograms of weight on his shoulders.
Zhang hopes to get into the Guinness Book of World Records with his massive
feat.
