Students free school of responsibility ( 2003-11-05 17:09) (China Daily)
Nanjing Normal University in East China's Jiangsu Province has signed
contracts with its students, in which students who commit suicide or
intentionally injure themselves while at the university are held solely
responsible for their actions, reports Jinling Evening News.
According to the university, the contract clarifies the duties and rights of
both the students and the university.
The university said the contracts will increase students' own self
discipline.
But some experts say that the university is using the contracts to shirk
responsibility of protecting the students when they are on
campus.
