14 years for man who drowned teen ( 2003-10-29 17:23) (China Daily)
Han Dewang, who deliberately drowned a 15-year-old boy in a quarrel, was
sentenced to 14 years in prison last Friday, Nanguo Morning Post reports.
Han, of Yongping Village in Teng County, met four fellow villagers when he
went to the nearby Huangtong Reservoir to swim on May 30.
After getting into a fierce quarrel with the four teenaged boys, Han pushed
one of them under the water and held him down until he stopped struggling.
Other villagers rushed to the reservoir to pull the boy out of the water 10
minutes later, but they could not revive him.
Han ran away but was caught by police at the Guilin Railway Station four days
later.
