Frequent blood donors win award

The Shanghai Blood Administration Office honoured six locals for donating 10
litres of blood each over the past few years, Shanghai Morning Post reports.
Another 1,006 citizens were awarded for donating one litre each.
At present, 20 per cent of the blood used in hospitals comes from the 28
blood collection vehicles that travel the city's streets seeking donors.
The city has established a team of 30,000 regular donors and people with
special blood types to provide blood during medical emergencies and
shortages.
