Motor Racing-Montoya keeping his options open for 2005 ( 2003-10-29 10:48) (Agencies)
Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya remains committed to Williams next year but is keeping an open mind about which Formula One team to drive for in 2005. "I am with Williams next year," the 28-year-old told a news conference in Bogota on Monday night. "I have a contract with them until the end of 2004. "For 2005 I am a completely free agent and I have to look at all the options and decide at that time which will be the best for me in the future, whether to stay at Williams or join another team," he added. "Obviously, there have been talks with other teams and that is why there has been so much gossip." Montoya was a title contender this season, ending up third overall behind Ferrari's six times champion Michael Schumacher and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen. Rumours swept Formula One before the end of the season that the Colombian, one of the sport's swashbuckling showmen, was set to join McLaren in place of Briton David Coulthard. Montoya is still a favourite to join the Mercedes-powered team in 2005 although he has also been linked to Ferrari.
