A woman whose new phone number used to belong to an egg producer was inundated by calls from consumers complaining about smelly eggs, Shanghai Morning Post reports.

Song registered a phone number for his mother in February but soon she was constantly explaining to strangers over the phone that she did not sell eggs. After clarifying that her number was indeed the same as that printed on packaged eggs, Song contacted the producer who said that the new number the company had adopted would be printed on future packages.
