Cabby hands in passenger's diamonds ( 2003-10-24 17:16) (China Daily) Chen, the manager of a
jewellery firm, got his 1,000 diamonds back on Wednesday after misplacing them
three days earlier in Shenyang, reports Liaoshen Evening News.
Chen had travelled to Shenyang from Shenzhen on business. On Sunday, he took
a taxi from a hotel in the Xiaobei area to the long-distance bus stop, but he
left a suitcase containing 1,000 diamonds in the back seat.
Although Chen's plight was heavily publicized in the local media over the
next three days, taxi driver Zhang Xin knew nothing about the 1,000 diamonds. He
simply handed the suitcase over to his taxi firm, asking them to help track down
its owner.
