A newly married couple in Nanjing were born on the same day in the same delivery room and were even delivered by the same doctor, Yangtze Evening News reports.

Zong Cheng and Zuo Ling came into the world one after the other 24 years ago at Nanjing Railway Hospital.

Their parents joked at the time about the two getting married when they grew up.

It was love at first sight when the pair met through a matchmaker two years ago.

Later on, they discovered they had a great deal in common.

The "joke" finally became a reality at the couple's wedding ceremony on Saturday, at which the doctor who delivered both of them acted as chief witness.
