A precious yellow and white carved stone, measuring eight by five centimetres and weighing just 0.15 kilograms, has been valued at 8.8 million yuan (US$1.06 million), reports Beijing Youth Daily.

The "Autumn Charm", as it is known, of valuable Tianhuang stone, features a delicately carved scene from "The Dream of the Red Mansion" - one of four Chinese literary masterpieces.

The costly stone will be auctioned in Beijing.
